Chambres d'hôtes in French means "guest rooms" and we want to welcome you for a relaxing and peaceful stay. Days here pass calmly, surrounded by the silence of the mountains and in harmony with the rhythm of the seasons.
The house was restored using local materials, preserving the original room layout. It is a very old dwelling, as evidenced by the dates carved on the beams and door frames, the oldest from 1674. Over the centuries, there have been several renovations, the latest completed in 2006.
For the bedding, we used natural wool and cotton for sheets and towels. Every detail has been carefully considered for a balance between modernity and tradition.

In our family we call this room « lo peillo d’Adèle » because great-aunt Adèle Bovard lived here with her husband Gabriel Darbelley and she left the house to grandfather Angelo. Once “lo peillo” ( from the French “poêle” ) was the most important room of the house, the only heated place where all the daily activities took place. The wood panels and the wardrobe date back to 1905. The “peillo” preserves all the past’s charm and reminds us of the life of yore.
In the past the “garde roba” was where you kept the food supplies that had to last all the winter, there were a few racks for drying bread and some cupboards full of salt, rice, pasta, flour and sugar. The room for four people has been restored recovering all the local wood. It’s a very bright bedroom with a balcony looking toward the village and our wonderful mountains. The bathroom, with larch wood and Portuguese pink marble finishings is large and comfortable.
The name « pailler » in our dialect means hayloft. Today you can find two bedrooms, a bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen complete with saucepans and china. From the balcony you can enjoy a wonderful view on the Grande Sassière and through the spruce firs and the larches you can glimpse the houses of the main village.

Valgrisenche presents the visitor with its ring of mountains draped in glaciers, stretching towards the French region of Tarentaise. The slopes of Valgrisenche can be reached with short walks like those to the Surier and Miollet waterfalls, long hikes such as the Tour around the Rutor, and climbs of varying difficulty levels. There is also great opportunity for free climbing on the walls close to the settlement. The ski resort of Valgrisenche is particularly suitable for beginners and families with children (the little ones can also have fun in the baby snow park), like the cross-country ski trails that have developments and elevations suitable for all levels of ability and training. The possibilities for ski mountaineering excursions are immense. Starting from Valgrisenche, you can go up to the mountain huts to witness the milk processing, buy authentic Fontina at the local cooperative in La Béthaz, and visit the artisanal cooperative where women still today dedicate themselves to the typical art of this valley, weaving the drap, a woven wool cloth made on old wooden looms.
